MORE TO EXPLORE

A significant site associated with a pioneer of a very different stripe can be visited in Corbin about a half hour northwest of the Walker cabin. The Colonel Harland Sanders Cafe and Museum sits at the intersection of U.S. Highways 25E and 25W. It is where the colonel cooked up his first batches of Kentucky fried chicken. The recipe was the basis of what would eventually become an international fast-food chain. For details, go to http://www.chickenfestival.com/sanders.htm.
